South Korean artist Lim Young-sun knows how to deal with trolls like BLOTUS. Above is a scene from his art exhibition in Seoul. We see a satirical look at the diplomacy over the Korean peninsula “featuring two of the world’s biggest showmen”. Sometimes we can only achieve catharsis through art.
Catharsis through Art
In a short news article circulating throughout much of Asia, Mr Lim explains:
Both leaders are masters of political shows and using the tension created by their hostile rhetoric for their own political gain at home…but what they are lacking seems sincerity.
Some people angrily told to my face ‘artists like you are jeopardizing our ties with the US and national security,’ while some others, apparently not Trump fans, said this piece gave them catharsis.
While the image of an expired BLOTUS surely is cathartic for hundreds of millions of Earthlings, we at Expat in Montreal hope BLOTUS lives long enough to be disgraced before dying. Why? Mostly so that his tens of millions of supporters can see what this man truly is, and why it is irresponsible to support a severely narcissistic (NPD) demagogue as your leader. But our reasoning is also selfish, because we may not be around to read history books of the future where the truth about this man will be printed.
Unfair! And a word about cheeseberders [sic].
As anything not in his favor is “unfair” and probably a “deep state” conspiracy, justice served against Trump would make him a martyr. Since Cult 45 believes their leader to be above the law, we don’t expect anything to change on the ground even if he’s convicted. Future generations will read about one of the worst presidencies in the nation’s history, but that doesn’t help us today. We still can probably only achieve catharsis through art in 2018.
To reiterate: we don’t want his clogged black heart to stop beating. If Benito Cheeto were to suffer a fatal heart attack prior to his formal disgrace, justice would not be served. We would all be the poorer if cheeseberders took down Mr Trump before he had the chance to face repercussions for his white collar crimes and betrayals of office.
